The Addictions Awareness Week Committee’s mission is to increase awareness around addiction and to reduce stigma across Simcoe-Muskoka. The Addictions Awareness Week Planning Committee is looking for artistic individuals to bring their creative ideas about harm reduction to life, which is the theme for this year’s annual Addictions Awareness Week conference.
An approach that seeks to reduce the health and social harms associated with substance use and other activities like gambling, gaming and technology use, without necessarily requiring people to stop or abstain.
The contest opens July 1st and closes on October 31st, 2019. Posters will be displayed and voted on at the conference in November Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three voted for posters. Submissions from all ages are encouraged.
Posters must be on paper no smaller than 8.5 x11 or larger than 11×16. A registration form must be completed for the poster to be accepted into the contest. Paper copies are available at the designated drop off sites or click below to save or print your own. All posters must have the artist’s initials and corresponding registration number on the back. For electronic submissions, a registration number will be created upon receipt. All posters will be laminated for the event.
Prize winners will be notified by November 30, 2019. Three attempts will be made to contact winners and then the prize will be awarded to the next runner up. If your contact information changes before November 30, 2019, notify firstname.lastname@example.org
