CMHA Simcoe County Branch Crisis Bed Unit – Community and Partner Update

CMHA Simcoe County Branch (CMHA SCB) is pleased to announce the re-opening of our Crisis Bed Unit effective Monday August 8, 2022.  We are very thankful to the individuals we serve, our Community Partners, staff and volunteers for patience during our time of transition.

CMHA SCB operates five Crisis Beds for the community, plus one exclusively for Police referrals.  Individuals seeking a Crisis Bed admission can call the crisis line to do an initial telephone risk assessment and then arrange for face-to-face mobile assessment to determine eligibility for admission.  The in-house crisis team offers mental health and addiction support, referrals and connections to ongoing support, stabilization, crisis planning and assistance with any other goals as identified during the admission.

CMHA SCB Crisis Services offers 24/7 telephone support to assist individuals, community agencies, emergency services and family or friends, to work through resolution of identified issues and challenges. Our Crisis Outreach and Support Team (COAST) in partnership with police services, continues to provide crisis intervention services within the community.
