Visitors to 99 Ferris Lane, Barrie will notice a new art installation in our front entranceway. This striking metal tree, filled with leaves and accented with birds, was created by local artist Bob Mason and marks the beginning of a new fundraising campaign in support of CMHA Simcoe County Branch mental health and addiction programs.

More than a piece of art, the installation represents something deeper: the power of community generosity and the belief that healing and recovery are possible when we come together.

At the heart of this campaign lies an opportunity to create a truly lasting legacy. Each leaf on the tree represents a gift of $500 and may be dedicated in honour or in memory of someone who has left a meaningful mark on your life. Your leaf will be displayed for one year, with the opportunity to continue this tribute for as many years as you wish at $500 per year.

Together, these leaves become more than a display—they form a living symbol of compassion, remembrance, and collective generosity. Each dedication not only honours a personal story, but also helps ensure that individuals and families in our community can access the mental health and addiction supports they deserve.

The three leaf colours were thoughtfully chosen to reflect the changing seasons — a natural reminder that life is always evolving. Just as trees move through cycles of renewal, strength, and transformation, so too do people on their journeys of healing and recovery. Each colour represents a moment in that journey — growth, resilience, remembrance, and hope for what lies ahead.
